What Is Success?

What is Success?

I am pretty sure it looks a lot like this picture!

Do you have a flower garden
or admire anyone who has a green thumb?

I have always admired flower gardens and last Spring,
I talked my hubby into buying some flowers to go in the back garden.
The beautiful wall he had built deserved some color, I thought!

So, we purchased some really pretty reds, yellows, blues and purples.
I was so excited!

Our back area was larger than we realized
once we started laying out plans
for where each one would be placed.
Largest in the middle and on either side
with smaller plants in the center.

Now, the soil had been equally treated
in the whole garden - the plants all purchased
and planted at the same time.

Guess what happened?

On one side, half of the plants struggled to survive.
On the other side?  Some died back completely.
Other plants grew by leaps and bounds.
Below is the 'winner' of the whole garden
by the end of the season.

Okay, so by now you are thinking -
what is the point of this discussion?

I was thinking this is the very same experience
for a home business owner -
no matter what the type of business is -
the analogy works the same.

While I planted all my plants the same way -
watered them at the same time -
and cultivated their growth in the same way -
not all of them flourished.

I had a few die
I had a few 'come back to life'
when I thought for sure they were done!

In business - whether your own or working for another -
You find that person that just right away
picks up the vision for what you do,
flourishes and blooms
with very little care from you.
They might still need some 'water' here and there,
but overall, they took root
and thrived once planted.

Then,
you find another person that you mentor
and lead the same
as the first person (duplication).
However, they stop trying too soon and
leave without ever
taking root.
They stop seeing the vision
of your business.

After they leave, you mentor another person the exact same way,
but by all appearances, nothing happens.
You don't see them take root,
You don't see them grow and
eventually you stop
communication
because you continue to have no feedback.
They just don't talk to you.

You have two more that come into the fold -
You are doing the same things as before -
One grows, the other does not.
They are working side-by-side
and yet only one seems to be growing
and taking root
while the other disappears
before they see the blessing.

But wait, remember the person you mentored
and you didn't hear
from them at all?
What is this?
You get a call from them!
You hear about how they are taking root,
growing and hit their 're-set button.'

Success is seen
in many ways.
Someone making
a large income is usually success to most.
Money is what it's all about after all
Right?

What if you choose to
make a change?
Walk away from what another thinks is successful?
You tried as hard as you could
but decided you want something
different.
What if they say you are a quitter?
Is this actually true?

No,
Quite the opposite I think.

See, a quitter is one who never tries.
A quitter is a person who gives up
easily or who does not have the courage
or determination to finish a task.

I learned this much:

No matter what you do - do it well.
If you have those who leave - wish them well.
Your vision of 'success' or 'quitting'
is not always the same to another.

I am reminded that success isn't
always how much money you carry in your wallet.

It is in how you treat people -
how you value them in
all walks of life.

Work hard - share your knowledge
and be encouraged!

I will leave you with this video.

Many 'failures' that actually turned into

success stories!

The Road of Life

Have you ever thought about the 'Road of Life?'

Our life is basically built up of the many roads we travel because of our choices, our circumstances and our beliefs that limit us in some way.

I was thinking about my fascination for taking pictures of Aspen trees. We go every year and I love seeing the brilliant colors when they are turning.

In many of my pictures, there will be several road pictures like the one above.
I think about the fact that I don't know what is up ahead yet because I haven't traveled there yet.
It is exciting to know that until we start going again,
I won't know what splendor awaits.

Too few of us approach life with the thought of
'what splendor awaits me just ahead?'

Many think that the road is going to be bumpy,
so it usually is.
Many think that the road will be full of mud to get stuck in,
so it usually is.
Many think that the road will have many twists and turns,
so it usually is.

Why not approach life every day with wonder?
Why not approach your troubles with thankfulness?
Why not approach your trials with a smile?

Why?
Because we get beaten down, weary and tired of the struggle.
We've all been there.
Even the most positive outlook can have cracks
underneath the surface.

With this thought - I saw this poster:

Is it really that easy to change course?
Is it really as simple as if you don't like the road you're on that it can be changed?

I will sum up my thoughts with this
written by Linda Ellis.
I believe it's all in how you approach it!

I love the road
I am traveling in my life
- how about you?

The Journey

Hello and Welcome to my new journey!

I love this poster!!

The message that was shared as well as the picture.
The train tracks running side by side as well as the blending together
symbolizes a persons life in a sense.

Life is full of twists, turns, choices and decisions that take us where we want to go.

There are also going to be unexpected, unplanned surprises along the way when things don't go as we had planned for it to!
That really is just the way life is for us all.

I want this page to be about living life to the fullest, especially those interesting experiences while working from home
and whatever else happens along the way.
The journey of it all!

I love to write and I have been wanting to get this project going for awhile now.

I hope that you will stop by often to see how the journey is going!

I am so thankful you are here - please leave a comment or two. If you like my blog, please share it!

I welcome your interaction here as well :)
